Adopter Information
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE COVENANTS AND AGREEMENTS CONTAINED HEREIN, INCLUDING THE FULL AND CONTINUOUS COMPLIANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT BY THE ADOPTER, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS:
SA R.O.C.K.S. does hereby deliver to THE ADOPTER and THE ADOPTER does hereby adopt as an indoor pet, the above described animal. *
THE ADOPTER ACKNOWLEDGES AND UNDERSTANDS that the temperament and health of this pet may not be fully known, and does hereby assume full responsibility for any personal injuries and/or damages that may be caused hereafter by or to the adopted pet. *
The adopter hereby remises, releases and forever discharges SA R.O.C.K.S. from any claim, loss or liability whatsoever arising from or relating in any way to the pet. *
THE ADOPTER AGREES to indemnify and hold harmless SA R.O.C.K.S. from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, fees or costs arising from or relating to any and all claims relating to the adopted pet. *
SA R.O.C.K.S. makes no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the pet or the health, condition, age, personality or temperament of the pet. *
We give you our best information based on what we know to make the adoption process smooth and easy, but nothing can be guaranteed. *
Unhappy pets can cause problems in any home so please keep us informed at all times if there are problems. SA R.O.C.K.S. will give out free training advice as needed to make this adoption a permanent home for the pet. *
THE ADOPTER shall provide a secure fenced yard for the pet, proper grooming, nutrition, exercise and necessary veterinary care for the adopted pet. *
Once you take the pet from SA R.O.C.K.S. you are fully responsible for all vet bills associated with your newly adopted pet from the moment you sign this contract. *
THE ADOPTER further agrees that this pet shall be an indoor pet, allowed to sleep indoors and protected from inclement or adverse conditions and shall not be housed or kept in a yard or chained except during daytime hours. *
The pet shall not be transported unsecured, in an open area of any truck or utility vehicle. *
THE ADOPTER shall comply with any and all local, county and state regulations and laws relating to ownership, care, feeding and sheltering of the adopted pet, and shall at all times maintain a current license for the pet. *
THE ADOPTER may not abandon, give away, gift, sell, transfer to a shelter or otherwise release the pet, and will notify R.O.C.K.S. immediately upon deciding you no longer want or cannot keep the pet so we can take the pet back or arrange another adoption. *
In the event that THE ADOPTER for any reason is unable to provide a home for the pet, the pet must be returned to SA R.O.C.K.S., at THE ADOPTER'S expense. *
This adopted pet is NEVER to be given away for any reason to any one else, but returned to SA R.O.C.K.S. and our rescue for another home placement if the ADOPTER cannot keep this pet for whatever reason. *
The pet MAY NOT BE EUTHANIZED except in the case of the pet’s terminal illness or injury, or old age accompanied by pain and suffering and with the concurring opinion of a licensed veterinarian. *
A licensed veterinarian or veterinarian technician in a private clinic or hospital must perform the euthanasia. SA R.O.C.K.S. must be informed of a change in the pet’s health that would incur euthanasia. *
SA R.O.C.K.S. asks that a minimum donation of $_____ be made as the NON-REFUNDABLE adoption fee. The fee must be paid in cash or paid online at www.sarocks.org/adopt/adopting-a-pet.com. Personal checks are not accepted. *
THE ADOPTER shall have the pet examined by a licensed veterinarian within 14 days of adoption and not less than yearly thereafter and keep all vaccinations current and administered medicines preventatives as required by the veterinarian. *
THE ADOPTER shall seek prompt veterinary care for the pet for the remainder of the pet’s lifetime. The ADOPTER agrees to take the pet to a vet for any injury, illness or sickness immediately while in their care from the time the pet is left in their care. *
Most pets do not come with background information so you will know what we know about your adopted pet, and that information will given to you during the adoption process. Many of our rescued pets do not come with background heath information. *
The ADOPTER agrees not to sue SA R.O.C.K.S. for any reason about, during or after the adoption of this rescued pet. *
RETURN POLICY:
The ADOPTER is expected to be in contact with the SA R.O.C.K.S. via email or phone to let us know if the adoption is NOT going well. *
The ADOPTER agrees that a minimum of 5 days’ notice is required for any returns so there is time for arrangements to be made. This notice is required unless there is reason to believe that another person or animal is in immediate danger due to the pet. *
Please keep this copy of the contract as it is the ADOPTER'S "bill of sale" and it proves that you now own the pet you have adopted. *
