Apply To Adopt
If you are interested in any of our R.O.C.K.S. dogs please fill out our online application below. Your application does not obligate you to adopt an animal from us, but will give us a better idea of the type of pet you are looking for and would best compliment your lifestyle. Since most of our dogs and cats are in foster homes, the foster home will be able to give you information on their personality and temperament.
SA R.O.C.K.S. is an ALL volunteer run organization. Please note that due to our small group, only completed Adoption Applications will be processed and sent to the foster homes to review. We will not be able to reply to general adoption inquiries. If interested in meeting a pet, we do recommend that an adoption application be filled out or come out to our weekend adoption events to meet our dogs in person.
About Adoption Fees
We request a minimum non-refundable donation of $150 for all dogs with the exception of puppies under 12 months of age, in which we request a minimum non-refundable donation of $175. Your donation includes the full medical workup of your new pet, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations (DHPP and rabies if over 12 weeks of age) and first month of heartworm prevention, dewormer and flea and tick control and microchip. All of our animals are in a foster home so we are typically able to give you more info on their temperament and personality.
Shelter Care Insurance
Your adopted pet leaves with 30 days of free health insurance. Between 1-3 days after your have adopted from us, you should receive an email from Shelter Care insurance on how to activate this insurance. Your insurance will cover specific injuries/illnesses up to $750 with a $75 deductible. While all of our pets are in foster homes and are under the supervision of a vet, there are diseases which tests cannot catch until the pet is showing symptoms. Your pet insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions and only illnesses or injuries that have come up AFTER adoption. The coverage begins 48 hours after adoption. Click here for all details about the pet insurance.
Pet Allergies?Adoption can still be an option for many folks with pet hair or dander allergies! Help lessen allergens in your home by frequently bathing your pet, vacuuming more often, and cleaning fabrics like bedding or curtains. There are steps you can take to live happily with your new companion. Also, consider that smaller animals (like lap dogs!) produce fewer allergens than larger pets.
